Sulphur Functions; Costituent of cystine and methionine (amino acids) biotin ( for lipid metabolism), thiamine ( for carbohydrate metabolism) and coenzyme A (for energy ,etabolism.

Deficiency Symptoms; Retarded growth to insufficient protein synthesis, Sheep may expereince reduced wool growth.

Magnesium Functions;Essential for normal skeletal development, is a constituent of bone and functions as an enzyme activator in the glycolytic system, helps decrease tissue irritability.

Deficiency Symptoms;Flushing of the skin due to vasodilation, hyperirritability,e.g. Teany , loss of appetite, hyperemia, convulsions and death.

Sodium Functions;Maintains osmotic pressure and acid -base balance of body functions of body fluids which in turn regulates nutrient transfer, waste removal and water balance in body tissue. Plays a role in muscle contraction and in the proceduction of bile.

Deficiency Symptoms; Reduced growth and feed utilisation, reduced milk production, weight loss in adults, infertility in males, delayed sexual maturity in females, craving for sodium (drinking urine) in laying hens- lower egg production, weight poss and cannibalism.

Chlorine Functions; Maintains osmotic pressure and acid-base balance and body fluids. Component of gastric juice( hydrochloric acid)

Deficiency Symptoms;Retarded growth, Chloride deficient chicks exibit noise induced nervous systems.

Animal Micro Nutrient Deficiencies

Cobalt Functions;Used in the synthesis if Vitamin B12 and required for the growth of rumen bacteria.

Deficiency Symptoms; Loss of appetite, reduced growth, loss in body weight, followed by emaciation, anemia and death. Adepraved appetite may be observed. When associated with Copper deficiency is known as “Salt Stick”.May be known as Denmark disease, Coast Disease. Enzootic Marasmus, Bush sickness, Wasting disease. Nakuritis and Pining disease.

Copper functions;Essential for haemoglobin formation, enzyme systems, hair and bone development, pigmentation, reproduction and lactation.

Deficiency Symptoms; Fading hair coat, light, straight wool growth(steely wool). Nervous systems, lameness, swelling of joints, fragility of bones and anemia.

Iodine FunctionsEssential for the production of thyroxin ( a hormone which controls the rate of metabolism/heat production) in the thyroid gland.

Deficiency Symptoms; Goiter in calves, lambs and kids. Stillbirths, weak young , hairless pigs andwool less lambs at birth. Known as cretinism in young animals, mzedema in adults.

Iron Functions; A consstituent of haemoglobin- the iron containing molecule that transports oxeygen in the blood and other enzymes involved with ozygen transfer.

Deficiency Symptoms; Anemia- fewer red blood cells and lower haemoglobin levels.

Manganese Functions; Essential for the normal bone formation, growth and reproduction. Activator of enzyme systems involved in oxidative phosphorylation, amino acids metabolism, fatty acaid synthesis and cholesterol.

Deficiency Symptoms;Poor growth, lameness, shortening and bowing of the legs, enlarged joints, knuckling over in calves, testicular degeneration in males and impaired ovulation in females, Slipped tendons in poultry.

Molybdenum Functions; Is a constituent of the enzyme xanthine oxidase-important in poultry for the production of uric acid. Stilulates action of rumen organisms.

Selenium Functions; Involved in Vitamen E abdsorption and retention, prevenyts degeneration andfrbrosis of the pancreas of chicks.

Deficiency Symptoms;Nutritional muscular dystrophy in lambs ans calves. Liver necrosis in pigs.Exudative diathesis.

Silicon Functions; Involved in the mineralisation of bones

Zinc Functions; Important for bone and feather development. Is a component of several enzyme systems e.g. carbonic anhydrase and is required for protein systhesis and metabolism.

Deficiency Symptoms; Loss of appetite and stunted growth, poor hair and feather development, Rough, thick in swine (parakeratosis)

Nasol Fulvic Plus

Nasol Fulvic Plus is a premium Fulvic Acid extracted from Agri-Plus, a high grade Leonardite ore. Nasol Fulvic Plus is a unique liquid blend of natural plant growth steroids, with 78 bio-available trace elememts/ minerals, 34 enzymes, complex Organic Acids 3.g., (Crenic and Apocrenic),Phosphorus,13 vitamins incl A,C,D,E,K and the entireB group,18 amino acids This ore is mined exclusively for agronomic value from a unique organic deposit. Nasol Fulvic Plus has natural properties that stimulate plant metabolic processes and aid the uptake, absorption , and translocation of many agricultural ingredients. Use Nasol Fulvic  Plus alone or in combination with nutrients, herbicides, fungicides, and plant-growth regulators.

Foliar Feeds

Nasol Fulvic Plus is an excellent vehicle for getting folia applied nutrients into the plant. The chemical properties of Nasol Fulvic Plus are similar to penetrating surfactants and will increase the movement of nutrients through the cuticle barrier. It is an ideal complexing agent for agricultural use and will prevent plant nutrients from reacting with other minerals andbecoming immobile.Synthetic chelating agents will tightly bind with nutrients, but must release them before absorption occurs. However, the entire organic molecule of Nasol Fulvic Plus will complex with the nutrient and is completely and immediately adsorbed through the leaf tissue. Radio-isotpe tagging has  proven that nutrients complexed with these organic acids are transported rapidly to all plant parts-leaves, fruit, woody tissue and roots- where they can be effectively utilized by the plant system. Apply 80ml per ha of Nasol Fulvic Plus with all foliar nutrient blends.

Growth Regulators

Nasol Fulvic Plus has demonstrated a keen ability to improve the performance of plant growth regulators, particularly in less than ideal conditions. Nasol Fulvic Plus will increasae the uptake and absorption of the active agent and enhance its reliability. Aplly 80ml ha in all foliar applications

Increasing Herbicide Efficacy

Nasol Fulvic Plus can improve the efficacy of many non selective herbicides by improving the uptake of the active ingredient. In many cases, this will lead to a more rapid and effective weed kill. Apply80ml ha or use Nasol Fulvic Plus as an acidifier to drop the ph of the water or herbicide mix Nasol Fulvic Plus can be mixed with non selective herbicides.

The Hidden Hunger

Crops, pastures, trees and livestock often have a “hidden hunger” for nutrients. Plants and animals can suffer from this “Hidden Hunger” without showing specific nutrient deficienciey symptoms. By the time symptoms are evident , the plant or animal will already be experiencing a yield or productivity reduction, resulting in loss of profit to you the producer.

The importance of Micronutrients

For maximum yields of crops and improved vigour of pastures, NPK, the macronutrients are necessary. Just as important are the micronutrients (trace elements) that have been grossly neglected in the past. Nowadays a better understanding and numerous field experiences proves the importance of the micronutrients in balanced proportions in the soil.

Plant Nutrient Deficiencies

If a plant does not obtain sufficient nutrients for sustained growth, it may exhibit symptoms of deficiency such as poor growth, lack of vigour or develop an abnormal appearance. These symptoms are most apparent on the leaves, however other parts of the plant eg the stems, fruit and roots may also show signs. Being able to recognise the symptoms of deficiency in plants is the first step to correcting soil nutrient imbalances. (Stephen Ludwig)
